How Case Librarian works.

Case Librarian has three components which let you manage your solutions and environments easily.

A porch or covered walk, consisting of a roof supported by columns, often at the entrance or across the front of a building.

CLC_C.png

A content specialist charged with an institutions collection, involved in the interpretation of heritage material.

A small space usually off from a larger room containing a desk for one person, often grouped together with other similar cubicles in a library.

Portico is the entry to the library of information. It lets you manage the artefacts and published documentation within Case Librarian.

  • Navigate a tree of artefacts and environments that collects and collates your information

  • Create sets of artefacts for multiple solutions and environments

  • Add, update and delete artefacts and documentation

  • Publish the documentation for a set of artefacts

  • Download a zip of all your artefacts or your documentation

  • Use all the standard features of IBM Content navigator to view, modify and use the artefacts and documentation

Curator is the way you access the library’s administrative features. It allows you to manage the publishing controls used throughout Case Librarian.

  • Update the publication controls that define the publishing process

  • Add or update language translations

  • Manage snippets of information that can be inserted at different positions in published documentation

  • Add or update publishing templates to align the documentation with your corporate branding, changing styles, fonts, colours, and layout

Carrell comprises the server-side components that have secured access to convert artefacts, publish documentation, extract environment artefacts and store and relate your information.

  • Installed as a web application and as a code module

  • Manages the artefacts and published documentation through events and services

  • Extracts the domain structures and statistical information to create environment artefacts

  • Secured access to information and will only work with the other components of Case Librarian

Component Architecture

The Case Librarian Plugin is an IBM Content Navigator plugin that implements the Portico feature.

You add artefacts via the user interfaces provided by Portico and interact with the repository to manage the artefacts and published documentation.

CLC_C.png

The Case Librarian Plugin also implements the Curator feature and the services that allow Portico and Curator to work with your repositories.

If you need to change the publishing behaviour you can access Curator and add or update the locales, document templates and other publishing controls either for everyone or for an individual solution or environment.

The Case Librarian repository is made up of the data structures and security model to support the association, storage and retrieval of the artefacts and documentation you use.

The Case Librarian Code Module implements the events and services that allows Carrell to manage your artefacts and documentation.

You can also add artefacts directly to IBM FileNet Content Manager. Carrell will co-ordinate and organise the artefacts and you can then publish documentation via Portico. You can even trigger the publishing process to integrate the entire process into your development life-cycle.

The Case Librarian Web Application provides access to other domains and securely extracts information from them, and stores it within the Case Librarian repository.

If you have configured Carrell to support extraction, then you can extract structural and statistical information from IBM FileNet Content Manager domains that have been authorised.

During the demonstration of Case Librarian you will be given a tour of its features and functions; highlighting ways that you can use, simplify and enhance your IBM Case Manager solutions.
